Statement issued by the French Commission of experts on communicable diseases (Commission spécialisée maladies transmissibles), on the proposal of the Technical Vaccination Committee (Comité technique des vaccinations - CTV) on December 29, 2010. With regard to the current epidemiological situation of influenza 2010-2011, the Directorate General of Health asked the High Council of Public Health on the need to update the strategy of vaccination against influenza for the 2010-2011 season. This review has been prepared on the basis of data provided by the Institute for Public Health Surveillance and by the Afssaps.
