Abstract

The WHO SAGE March 2026 highlights summarize key global immunization priorities and recommendations.

SAGE reviewed COVID-19 vaccination strategies, emphasizing updated evidence on effectiveness, safety, and cost-effectiveness across populations. It examined typhoid conjugate vaccines, considering waning immunity and potential booster doses to optimize protection.

Broader discussions addressed challenges to immunization programs, including declining coverage, misinformation, and funding constraints. SAGE stressed strengthening surveillance, equitable access, and country-led decision-making. T

he meeting reaffirmed the importance of evidence-based policy guidance to support global vaccination efforts and inform future WHO position papers and strategies for improving public health outcomes worldwide.
