Abstract

The Epidemiological Bulletin 32/2024 publishes the STIKO's decision and scientific justification for recommending a one-time vaccination against RSV for all people aged ≥ 75 years. In addition, people aged 60 to 74 who have a severe form of an underlying disease and/or who live in a care facility are recommended to receive a one-time RSV vaccination. The underlying diseases include, among others, severe forms of chronic diseases of the respiratory organs, kidneys or cardiovascular system. The RSV vaccination should be given in September/early October if possible in order to offer the best possible protection in the following RSV season (October-March).
