Recommendations on pneumococcal vaccination to at-risk groups

Pneumococcal vaccination has been recommended to people who are at higher risk of severe pneumococcal disease since the 1990s. As of December 2022, vaccination against pneumococci is included in the national special vaccination programme for people who are part of at-risk groups. In addition to at-risk groups covered by the vaccination programme, the Public Health Agency recommends vaccination to some additional risk groups. sThe target group for these recommendations is health professionals and regions. The recommendations may form a basis for regional decisions.
