NCIRS is an independent research and advisory body based in Sidney, Australia that collaborates a range of national and international partners with a broad spectrum of work encompassing research, safety surveillance, social science, and education and training for immunisation providers and the wider community. With over 20 years of experience as the technical secretariat for the Australian NITAG, NCIRS plays a broader role in immunisation-related work. Major funding sources include the Australian and state governments and Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance.

The Global Health immunisation team at NCIRS supports National Immunisation Technical Advisory Groups (NITAGs) and similar groups in the Asia-Pacific region. Their work includes training and capacity building, tailored to the specific needs of each partner country. This support focuses on enhancing NITAG operations, evidence-based policy decision-making, providing technical assistance on immunisation policy questions, and fostering relationships and collaborations between NITAGs, including with the Australian NITAG (ATAGI) and other NITAGs.
